Bob Miess specializes in facilitating experiences that lead to congregational change and personal growth. How does he do this? Not by giving you the "right answers", but by providing a context in which you can discover and create the truth/answers/wisdom you are seeking. Here's a little about Bob:
Bob has a wide range of experience working with businesses, churches, non-profits, and individuals. He brings to all of his events a careful respect for every person and a deep sense of the interdependence of everything we experience. His gentle approach to every topic gives you a feeling of energy, hope, even joy.
His educational credentials include a BA in Mathematics, with minors in Physics and Philosophy, and a Master of Divinity degree. (though he would never say that he has in any way mastered divinity!)
Bob was a Lutheran minister for three years (long ago), and was in high tech for 27 years. He is now a member of a Unitarian Universalist church in San Jose . Following a radical life-changing event, he now takes time to do what is most important to him -- creating contexts in which people can discover and create more meaning, hope, and joy in their own lives.
Since January 2008, Bob has served as the Ministerial Settlement Representative for the Pacific Central District of the Unitarian Universalist Association. In this role he seeks to be a non-anxious knowledgeable presence with congregations as they navigate the complex search process. He helps them to sort through their congregation's needs and dreams, discern the qualities they need in a minister, consider carefully and caringly the Ministers available to them, discover the Minister who best matches their needs, and begin a relationship with that new minister in a shared Unitarian Universalist ministry that nurtures their spirits and helps heal the world.
